Vintage Dressing Table/Desk
This North American Furniture Company Dressing Table was manufactured in Owen Sound in December 1928. 91 years later (!!!), SC Design Co has transformed this beautiful vintage piece by incorporating touches of modern day while still preserving its long history.
The entire piece was refinished using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, an artisan paint that provides exceptional results. The body and mirror were refinished in French Linen and the top was refinished in a custom blend of French Linen and Old White, giving the surface slight contrast. The top’s profiled edge was refinished in Old White and then heavily distressed for an aged appearance. The entire piece was sanded smooth and moderately distressed. A floral appliqué was applied to the drawer fronts and every drawer was lined in its entirety with a delicate damask wallpaper. Original hardware was cleaned and completes this one-of-a-kind piece.
This is a very versatile piece. It can be used as a dressing table or as a desk as the mirror is fully detachable with no hardware markings to the surface. It could even be used as a small sideboard or console table.
Dimensions: 48” W x 20” D x 30.5” H (64” H including mirror)
SC Design Co.’s List Price Would Be: $595
HONOURABLE MENTION: A heartfelt thank-you to Susan Leslie for generously donating this piece for SC Design Co. to refinish and to The Painted Bench in Hamilton for donating all the supplies.
